For most people the best Phi Phi Island tour from Krabi is Krabi Ezy Trails’ Phi Phi Early Bird & 4 Islands. It picks you up before sunrise, reaches Maya Bay early in the day, carries up to 30 people, serves lunch on Bamboo Island and stops at four Krabi islands on the way back. It was $79 per person for 9 November 2026 and is rated 4.9 from 3,568 reviews. If that is more than you want to spend, the 9:00 Phi Phi Speedboat Tour with Lunch covers the same Phi Phi stops for $50. Our review →

Early, standard or late
Every tour here visits the same core of Phi Phi Leh and Phi Phi Don: Maya Bay, Pileh Lagoon, Viking Cave, Monkey Beach, a snorkel stop and Bamboo Island. The real choice is the time of day. Early bird boats pick up between about 05:50 and 06:45 and reach Maya Bay before the late-morning wave. Standard boats leave around 9:00 and arrive at Maya Bay when it is busiest. Sunset tours start from mid-morning and finish near Krabi after dark. If you mind crowds, pay for an early start; if you mind early alarms, the standard day is fine.

Ratings and review counts are each listing’s live GetYourGuide figures and will drift. Only one tour includes the national park fee (400 THB per adult, 200 THB per child).

Pick by what matters most
Getting to Maya Bay before the crowd
The Phi Phi Early Bird & 4 Islands is the one I would book for a first visit. Pickup in Ao Nang, Klong Muang or Tub Kaek is between about 05:50 and 06:30, Railay guests board by boat at about 07:00, and the boat holds up to 30. After a coffee stop at the Tup Island sandbar you get an hour at Maya Bay, then Pileh Lagoon, Viking Cave, Monkey Bay, a snorkel stop, 105 minutes on Bamboo Island with a Thai mini buffet, Chicken Island and Ko Poda. You are back at the pier at about 16:00. Maya Bay opens its landing rounds at about 7 am, not at sunrise, so “early” puts you ahead of the late-morning boats, not on an empty beach, and a few of the lower reviews say it still felt busy. Our review →
Sea Eagle’s Early Bird Maya Bay & 4 Islands is $5 cheaper at $74 and also picks up in Krabi Town and Ao Nam Mao, from 06:00. Its boat stops at Railay East floating pier for more guests and seats 30 to 40, and lunch is a buffet at Arida Restaurant 2 with a breakfast snack box on board. A few reviewers missed a proper coffee before the early start. Our review → The early bird tours page compares both, and is the Phi Phi early bird worth it weighs the $29 difference against the standard day.
A standard day at a fair price
GR Rungtawan’s Phi Phi Speedboat Tour with Lunch runs from 9:00 to 17:00, with free pickup in Ao Nang, Krabi Town, Klong Muang and Ao Nam Mao. You check in at its Ao Nang office and board from Ao Nang Beach. The day gives you 45 minutes at Maya Bay, Pileh Lagoon, Viking Cave, Monkey Beach, an hour and a half for a buffet lunch on Phi Phi Don and 45 minutes on Bamboo Island. At $50 and 4.7 from 1,887 reviews, it is the tour we feature on our homepage. Lower reviews mention crowded stops, a lot of time in transit, and one family who rode to the pier in the back of a pickup truck. Our review → More standard boats are on the Phi Phi speedboat tours page.
Spending as little as possible
Three tours we review were $47. Sea Eagle’s Phi Phi, Maya Bay & Bamboo Island has more reviews than any other Phi Phi tour from Krabi on GetYourGuide, 3,941, rated 4.4. It gives you 50 minutes at Maya Bay and an hour on Bamboo Island, with lunch at Arida Restaurant 2. Reviewers count 30 to 40 people aboard after the Railay pickups, and some had to sit outside at the front. Our review →
Oh-Hoo’s Maya Bay, Bamboo & Phi Phi Day Tour (4.4 from 626) picks up free in Ao Nang and Ao Nam Mao and charges 100 THB per person from Krabi Town, Klong Muang or Tub Kaek. Our review → Srisawat’s Phi Phi Speedboat with Buffet Lunch (4.6 from 1,052) adds two snorkel stops on the way out and serves a halal buffet with no pork or beef on Phi Phi Don. Our review → The Phi Phi and Bamboo Island tours page covers all three. A few newer listings are cheaper still, with far fewer reviews.
A smaller group
Krabi Vip Tour’s Phi Phi Small Group Speedboat Tour runs the loop in reverse: Bamboo Island and Nui Bay first, lunch on Phi Phi Don, then Pileh Lagoon, Maya Bay and Viking Cave on the way home. It was $89 with Ao Nang or Railay pickup ($107 from Klong Muang, Tub Kaek or Krabi Town) and has 54 reviews averaging 4.7. The listing does not give a group size. Our review →
Thalassa’s Semi-Private Phi Phi & Early Maya Bay costs more, $116 for 12 November, and is the only tour we review that includes the national park fee. It runs from 8:00 to 15:30, visits Maya Bay early, uses snorkel spots away from the main circuit and serves a Thai buffet on a quiet beach. Guides speak English, Spanish and French. Pickup is free at meeting points in Ao Nang; from Railay, Krabi Town, Klong Muang or Tub Kaek it is a private transfer at extra cost. It is rated 4.9 from 36 reviews. Our review →
A private boat
Sea Eagle’s Private Phi Phi Speedboat Charter is priced per boat: $566 for up to 12 people for 9 November. Pickup is from 8:00 (a pickup before 07:00 costs 500 THB extra), and the boat leaves Nopparat Thara at about 9:00 for about eight hours. Lunch is not included; the buffet at Arida Restaurant 2 is 280 THB a head. For four people the boat works out at about $142 each, for eight about $71. It has 41 reviews averaging 4.8. Our review →
Anda Krabi Seatour’s Phi Phi Speedboat, Shared or Private has “private” in its name, but its $89 option is a shared tour; the private options on the same listing cost more. Choose the option carefully. Private Phi Phi tours from Krabi compares the charters.
Sunset and plankton
The Phi Phi Sunset, BBQ & Plankton picks up between 09:00 and 09:50, leaves Nopparat Thara at 10:00 and runs the usual Phi Phi loop with lunch, then a BBQ dinner and sunset on Ko Poda and a plankton swim at Ko Rang. The sunset and plankton happen near Krabi, not at Phi Phi, and bioluminescent plankton is never guaranteed. It was $74, with 3,067 reviews averaging 4.7, though several reviewers counted about 57 people boarding. Our review →
Krabi Blue Sky’s Phi Phi 4 Islands Sunset & Plankton starts later still, with pickup from 10:30 and Railay at 11:30, and was $77. It runs with a minimum of six guests. Our review → Srisawat’s Phi Phi & 4 Islands Sunset Catamaran ($74, 4.7 from 286) starts at Bamboo Island and ends with dinner and the sunset at a viewpoint. Two 1-star reviews say the operator cancelled the night before without telling them, so check your messages that evening; if the operator cancels, contact GetYourGuide for a refund or a new date. Our review → The sunset tours and catamaran tours pages have the details.
Sunrise and sharks
Krabi Sunset Tours’ Phi Phi Sunrise & Shark Nursery picks up between 06:00 and 06:45 (not from Railay), stops at the Tup Island sandbar, spends an hour at Maya Bay early, and snorkels a blacktip reef shark nursery off Phi Phi Leh. It was $74 for its first open date, 11 November, and has 52 reviews averaging 4.9, with no lower-star reviews so far. Our review → The Phi Phi snorkeling tours guide covers the other good snorkel days.
Staying in Railay or Krabi Town
Railay has no road, so no van can collect you there. Guests board at the Railay East floating pier on the Early Bird & 4 Islands, the budget Sea Eagle boat, the private charter and the sunset catamaran; the sunset BBQ tour and the shark nursery tour do not stop there. To go to Phi Phi without a tour, Railay Eco Tour’s Railay to Phi Phi speedboat transfer takes about 40 minutes. Phi Phi tours from Railay Beach lists every option.
Krabi Town hotels are on the pickup lists of most tours, but the boats leave from the Ao Nang side, about 28 km away by road, so the drive to the pier is longer and some tours charge extra. Where to stay in Krabi for a Phi Phi tour explains which areas make the morning easiest.
Know before you book
- The national park fee is extra on every tour here except the semi-private one: 400 THB per adult and 200 THB per child, in cash on the day. Child age rules differ, so check your listing. One fee covers the whole park for the day.
- At Maya Bay your boat moors at Loh Samah Bay and you walk in for five to ten minutes. Swimming at the front beach is not allowed. Our Maya Bay rules guide explains why.
- Maya Bay closes every year from 1 August to 30 September; it reopened on 1 October 2026. Two listings already give 1 August to 30 September 2027 for the next closure, so treat those dates as expected and confirm them nearer the time.
- Pickup zones have gaps. Sea Eagle does not collect near Krabi airport, the bus terminal or Krabi Old Town, nor from Tonsai Bay or the Centara Grand Beach Resort.
- Most tours are not suitable during pregnancy or with back or heart problems, and several exclude children under 2 or 3. The speedboat crossing can be rough.
- Thai marine parks ban sunscreen with oxybenzone, octinoxate, 4-MBC or butylparaben. What to bring has the full list.
- Every tour here can be cancelled free up to 24 hours before, and operators cancel or reschedule when the sea is unsafe. The price guide adds the park fee and extras to each price.
