How a Private Charter Day Works
Four steps, and the two costs that are not in the boat price.
Book the boat, not seats
The price covers the boat for up to 12, whether you are two or twelve. Pickup is included in Ao Nang, Klong Muang, Krabi Town (not near the airport, bus terminal or Old Town) and at Railay East pier.
Decide on lunch and start time
Lunch is not included: the buffet at Arida Restaurant 2 on Phi Phi Don is 280 THB per person, or bring your own. A pickup before 7:00 costs 500 THB extra.
Check in at Nopparat Thara
Pickup starts from 8:00, you check in at Nopparat Thara and the boat leaves around 9:00. Railay guests are collected from the pier on the way out.
Set the pace with your guide
Tell the guide where you want more time. Bring 400 THB cash per adult and 200 THB per child for the park fee, plus something for the crew if you want to tip.

Cost
What a Private Boat Costs per Person
The Private Phi Phi Speedboat Charter from Sea Eagle Tour was $566 for 9 November 2026 when we checked. That is the price of the whole boat for up to 12 people, not a price per person. It is the only fully private speedboat from Krabi on GetYourGuide with a real review history, 4.8 from 41 reviews. A handful of other private speedboats are listed with three reviews or none, which is too little to go on. Our review →
The cost per person
Divide $566 by the number of people on board, then add two things in cash: the park fee of 400 THB per adult (200 THB for children aged 3 to 10) and, if you eat the buffet on Phi Phi Don, 280 THB per person for lunch.
| Group | Boat share | Plus, per adult, in cash |
|---|---|---|
| 2 | $566 ÷ 2 = $283 | 400 THB park fee + 280 THB lunch |
| 4 | $566 ÷ 4 = $141.50, about $142 | 400 THB park fee + 280 THB lunch |
| 6 | $566 ÷ 6 = $94.33, about $94 | 400 THB park fee + 280 THB lunch |
| 8 | $566 ÷ 8 = $70.75, about $71 | 400 THB park fee + 280 THB lunch |
| 12 | $566 ÷ 12 = $47.17, about $47 | 400 THB park fee + 280 THB lunch |
For comparison, the standard speedboat day was $50 per person with lunch included, plus the same 400 THB park fee. With 12 people your share of the boat, about $47, is close to that shared seat, although the shared price includes lunch. With eight it is about $21 more each. For a couple it is $283 each, more than five times the shared price.
Private, semi-private or small group
Most couples and families of four will find a smaller shared boat better value. The Phi Phi Islands Small Group Tour from Krabi Vip Tour was $89 per person with lunch, and guests counted 10 to 12 on board. From about seven people, the private boat costs less per head than that, before lunch and the park fee. Our review →
Thalassa Tour’s Semi-Private Phi Phi & Early Maya Bay was $116 per person, and that price already includes the park fee and a picnic lunch on a quiet beach. At five people the private boat works out at $113 each, close to Thalassa’s price, but the 680 THB per adult for fee and lunch still has to be added. Thalassa’s guides also speak Spanish and French. Read the Phi Phi Speedboat, Shared or Private listing from Anda Krabi Seatour carefully. It is titled as a private tour, but the $89 option is a shared group tour, and one guest wrote that they only found out from the tickets. The private options on the same listing were quoted from $280 to $395 per person for two adults, and the boat-only option leaves out the guide and lunch. It has 4.3 from 69 reviews. Our review →
What private does and does not change
Your own boat means no waiting for other guests at pickups or stops, and you can ask for longer at Bamboo Island or a quieter snorkel spot. One group of ten, four of them children, wrote that the guide let them spend the day as they wanted. A couple of earlier guests, in 2023 and early 2024, found the route harder to change than they expected and their guide’s English limited.
It does not change the crowds on land. Maya Bay, Pileh Lagoon and Bamboo Island are as busy for a private boat as for any other, and Maya Bay still has a time limit of about an hour per visit.
If you are two and want a boat to yourselves at Phi Phi, Discover Thailand’s Day Trip to Phi Phi with Private Longtail is a different setup. You cross on a shared speedboat, then have a private longtail and captain around Phi Phi for four hours, with private taxi transfers in Krabi and a lunch box. It was listed from $444 for up to two people on 7 November, about 10.5 hours, with 4.3 from 22 reviews. There is no guide, the captain speaks basic English, and the park fee and a 20 THB island fee are extra.
For a group of six or more, the Sea Eagle charter is the one I would book. For two to four, compare it against the small-group tour before paying for a whole boat. Our price guide lists every tour with the park fee added, and the family guide covers age limits for children.

Private Phi Phi Tour FAQ
Short answers on cost, group size, lunch and what private changes.
Sea Eagle Tour's private speedboat charter was $566 for the whole boat, up to 12 people, on the dates we checked in early November 2026. On top of that you pay the park fee of 400 THB per adult and 200 THB per child, and lunch at 280 THB per person if you want the buffet.
Yes. The Sea Eagle charter picks up in Ao Nang, Klong Muang, Krabi Town and at Railay East pier, leaves Nopparat Thara around 9:00 and runs about 8 hours with a guide. It is the only fully private speedboat from Krabi on GetYourGuide with more than a handful of reviews.
From about seven people the boat share drops below the $89 small-group price, and at 12 people it is about $47 each, close to a $50 shared day. Lunch and the park fee are extra on the private boat, so add 680 THB per adult in cash.
No. The buffet at Arida Restaurant 2 on Phi Phi Don costs 280 THB per person, paid on the day. Water, fruit and snorkel gear are included.
Not by default. The $89 option on that listing is a shared group tour, and one guest only found out from the tickets. The listing also sells private options, from $280 per person for two adults for the boat alone, so check which option you are buying.
Discover Thailand sells a day with a shared speedboat crossing and a four-hour private longtail around Phi Phi, listed from $444 for up to two people with 4.3 from 22 reviews. There is no guide, only a captain who speaks basic English, and the park fee is extra.
