About This Experience

Thalassa Tour runs this as a semi-private day on a speedboat with a maximum of 17 guests, from 8:00 to 15:30. Maya Bay is usually the first stop, so you land before most of the day boats. Pileh Lagoon comes next, then snorkeling at spots away from the main circuit, such as Bida Nok, Bida Noi and Palong, and a Thai buffet lunch served picnic-style on a quieter beach. The crew plans the route each day around sea conditions, tides and how busy the beaches are, so the exact stops vary.

It is the only tour we cover with the national park fee included (400 THB per person). At $116 per person on the dates we checked in early November 2026, it still costs more than most shared Phi Phi days. For the difference you get a smaller group, an early Maya Bay landing, and a guide who snorkels with you and hands out a fish ID card.

Guides speak English and Spanish, and French is also listed. Pickup is free from meeting points near Ao Nang Beach and from the Centara Grand meeting point at Nopparat Thara pier, and drop-off is free to any Ao Nang hotel. From further away you pay for a private round trip: 850 THB from Railay, 1,100 THB from Krabi Town or Klong Muang and 1,300 THB from Tubkaek, each for one to three people, plus 100 THB per extra person.

The tour has 4.9 stars from 36 reviews, with no reviews under four stars when we checked. Reviewers say the crew dodged the worst of the crowds, though one notes Pileh Lagoon was still busy, which is usual there. One snorkeler missed having fins, which are not supplied, so bring your own if they matter to you; towels and sunscreen are not provided either. If bad weather cancels the trip, you are offered another date or a full refund.

Fantastic- great day out. Saki and Tuna were great fun and informative. We got to Maya bay early and it definitely avoided the masses! Even saw small black tipped sharks in the shallows. The lagoon was beautiful- altho crowded- but managed to find a semi peaceful spot!! Saki and Tuna took us to the best snorkelling- sharks, eels and nemos to name a few! Picnic on Bamboo island was very tasty. Highly recommend this and the Thalasso team
